Hi!

I just visited :iconthe-gimp: again today. I've had them on watch for quite some time now with no signs of activity. In fact there hasn't been a journal entry since November of 2008. You are listed as the group's Manager so I thought I would suggest to you to put the club up for adoption at :iconthelist: TheList so that someone else might be able to take over the group and make it active again. I was so looking forward to finding help using GIMP but it's hard to find an active club for GIMP on DA. "The-Gimp" is a great name for a club about GIMP, and your club already has some great resources in its gallery :gallery:. So putting it up for adoption would enable someone to take over and make it active again, benefiting the DA community as a whole. I would request that you please consider this option.

The administrator of the group has already responded to me on the subject and told me (somewhat **rudely**) that the club is still active and had posted something in May (although I still couldn't see any activity since March). So she has already made it clear that she does not intend to consider the subject. I have already removed myself from the club watch list and removed the club's links in my journal and profile page due to its inactive state and the administrator's acceptance of such a state. I don't plan to return to the club in the future as long as the same administrator presides over the club. Therefore it makes no difference to me anymore whether the club is put up for adoption or not. It may make a difference to your remaining members though. I don't know.

I do thank you very much for responding politely. I appreciate your courtesy as I was simply trying to find some benefit for your members who have remained in the group, as well as find some benefit for myself to join a group involving GIMP use. I received a journal update today though from :icongimptacular: Gimptacular that they will be reactivating soon. So I will remain with that group. I wish you and your members well in whatever you decide to do. Again, thank you for your courteous response. Have a nice day.

I've sent a note to the other managers of the club to check statusses and it appears they are fine. I have told them to exclude me from the club staff, because I don't have time for deviantart. But they are willing to post updates, so I guess we will see ~the-gimp comming alive soon.
I'm sorry to see a member dropout, but this is life. When you are not satisfied with something you are going to replace it.
